Spring 2026 PSCI update: NOW PROVIDING STEM CELL TREATMENT IN NAPLES, FLORIDA

There is wide recognition that stem cell treatment is very safe if properly performed and that US FDA restrictions have unintentionally resulted in perhaps overly restrictive access to stem cell treatment in the United States. On July 1st, 2025 Florida signed into law a statute that allows stem cell treatment to be performed in Florida if certain conditions are met. These conditions include, but are not limited to:

  1. Standards of care applied to the cells, including GMP production and certification by one of four certifying bodies
  2. Acceptable diagnoses, specifically treatment for wounds, orthopaedic or painful conditions
  3. Proper informed consent to the patient
  4. A notice stating: This health care practitioner performs one or more stem cell therapies that have not yet been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration. You are encouraged to consult with your primary care provider before undergoing any stem cell therapy.

If these and other conditions are met, Florida authorizes some stem cell treatments to be performed. While the legal framework remains ambiguous since stem cell prohibitions are federal, experts have opined that such stem cell treatment in Florida could probably be stopped by the federal government if they saw reason to do so: as is also the case with Cannabis use. In general, however, if stem cell treatment is responsibly provided and marketed and performed in accordance with Florida law, most feel that such treatments are unlikely to be stopped. At the PSCI we scrupulously adhere to all applicable law and use regenerative treatment where and when it is legal to do so. We have maintained an office in Naples, Fl for more than a decade. With the signing into law of the Florida statute in July 2025 we now also offer stem cell treatment in Naples when criteria are met.
